I’m Lindsay J. Henderson, a behavioural biologist with a background in animal behaviour, physiology, and neurobiology, with a focus on birds.
My work has spanned research, coordination, and strategic roles in avian science and now in engineering biology, including at the Roslin Institute. I am particularly interested in chickens as model organisms in biological and biomedical research, the mechanisms underlying complex behaviours, and new technologies to improve animal welfare.
Alongside this, I write about birds, brains, and behaviour, sharing new scientific advances and making research accessible to broader audiences.
This site reflects my interests in behavioural biology, animal welfare, and science communication.
